Welcome  to Hersham valves Retro Exhaust Brake web site. Hersham have been producing Exhaust Brakes for almost 40 years, and have been the market leader in design, application, and easy service. When you service a Retro Exhaust brake the important thing is that your truck is not off the road, not earning money. Servicing can be done by you in little under an hour, and if serviced regularly you can cut that time in half.

Known as Exhaust Brake Sales and Service (EBSS) in the 70's and 80's there are a number of E.R.F, Leyland, Foden, Dennis, Terex, and Ford trucks to name just a few with our product on.

Hersham now sell all parts to the end user, this gives you the opportunity to cut out the middle man and purchase your parts cheaper.

We can arrange to service or repair your unit for you if you wish us to.

Retro exhaust brakes were sometimes fondly known as Slide, flapper, and gate brakes among other things. Not to be confused with a butterfly brake which gives very little retardation. Upgrade kits are however available if you wish to upgrade to one of our many products.
